Why convert HEIC to JPG?

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is Apple's default photo format on iOS. It uses HEVC video compression to store photos in roughly half the space of an equivalent JPG, which is great for your iPhone's storage but unhelpful when you try to upload the photos somewhere — many services, especially older or non-Apple ones, simply reject HEIC files outright.

Converting to JPG produces a universally readable photo that opens in literally every image viewer, every browser, every photo editor, and every social network. The JPG will be larger on disk (typically 2× the HEIC size) but it'll work everywhere without any "unsupported file type" errors.

Our converter handles HEIC files directly from iPhones, including the Live Photo variants. You can upload up to 20 HEICs at once and download a ZIP of JPGs ready for upload anywhere.

HEIC to JPG — Frequently Asked Questions

Is the HEIC to JPG converter really free?

Yes — completely free, with no signup, no credit card, no watermarks, and no file count limits. The full feature set is available without any account.

Are my HEIC files private?

Yes. Files are stored in a private directory outside the web root, never shared with anyone, and deleted immediately after you download your ZIP.

How many HEIC files can I convert at once?

Up to 20 HEIC files per batch, with a maximum of 25 MB per file. There are no limits on the number of batches you can run.

Does the converted JPG keep the same image quality?

Quality is essentially indistinguishable from the HEIC source at typical viewing sizes. JPG uses lossy compression, but the quality settings are tuned for high fidelity, so the conversion produces visually identical results for almost all images.

Can I upload HEIC photos directly from my iPhone?

Yes. Drop iPhone HEIC files straight into the uploader from your phone or after AirDropping them to a computer. EXIF orientation is respected so portrait shots come out the right way up.
