Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect
When you use convert.tuxxin.com, we collect only the minimum data necessary to operate the service:
- Your IP address — used to enforce rate limiting (50 tokens per 15 minutes) and to log abuse. The last octet is masked in admin views.
- Conversion metadata — the number of files converted, source and target formats, and total file size. No file names or file contents are stored permanently.
- Session data — a temporary server-side session is used to track your upload tokens during an active conversion. Sessions expire when your browser closes or after inactivity.
We do not collect your name, email address, or any personal information beyond the above.
2. Your Files
Images you upload are stored temporarily on our server in a private directory outside the web root. They are never publicly accessible and are only used to perform your requested conversion.
- Original uploaded files are deleted immediately after conversion completes.
- Converted files (ZIP archive) are deleted as soon as you download them.
- Any unconverted or un-downloaded files are automatically pruned after a short period (configurable, default 7 days).
We do not read, analyse, share, or retain the contents of your images beyond what is necessary to convert them.
3. Cookies and Local Storage
We use a single session cookie (PHPSESSID) to maintain your conversion state. This cookie is a session cookie deleted when you close your browser, and is not shared with any third party.
In addition, Google AdSense and Google Analytics may set their own cookies to measure ad performance and site usage. These are third-party cookies governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You can manage or opt out of these cookies via your browser settings or Google's Ad Settings.
4. Third-Party Services
All CSS and JavaScript assets are self-hosted on our servers. We use the following third-party services:
- Google Analytics 4 — collects anonymous usage data (pages visited, browser type, general location) to help us understand how the Service is used. See Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out via the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on.
- Google AdSense — displays advertisements on the Service. Google may use cookies and your browsing data to show personalised ads. See Google's Advertising Policy and manage preferences at adssettings.google.com.
- Cloudflare — provides DNS, CDN, and security services. Cloudflare may process request metadata as part of delivering and protecting the Service. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
5. Data Retention
- Uploaded files: Deleted immediately after conversion.
- Converted ZIPs: Deleted after download (or auto-pruned after 7 days).
- Conversion log records: Stored in a local SQLite database indefinitely for aggregate statistics (total jobs, formats used). No file content is stored — only counts and sizes.
- Rate-limit records: Deleted automatically after the 15-minute throttle window expires.
- Server logs: Application logs may include your IP address and conversion events. These are stored locally and rotated periodically.
6. Your Rights
Since we do not collect personal accounts or email addresses, there is no account to delete. If you have concerns about data collected during your use of this service, you may contact us at the address below and we will address your request.
